PUSH/PULL is a collection of photographs taken by Hisham Akira Bharoocha that speak directly to the artist’s work on paper. The torn, weathered, sometimes manipulated wheatpaste posters found all over the city become a very specific echo of Hisham’s practice with his collage pieces. By capturing these new forms in nature, most during a global pandemic, through a concept of solitude or isolation, one can see the psychic energy that inhabits these forms through the artist’s eye.
